Administrator instructions

To report an error in current or upcoming Main Page content, please add it to the appropriate section below.

  • Where is the error? An exact quote of all or part of the text in question will help.
  • Please offer a correction if possible.
  • References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
  • Time zones: The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 19:26 on 22 October 2021), not adjusted to your local time zone.
  • Do not use {{edit fully-protected}}, which will not give you a faster response; it is unnecessary as this page is not protected and will in fact cause problems if used here, as this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
  • Done? Once an error has been fixed, rotated off the Main Page or acknowledged not to be an error, the report will be removed from this page; please check the page's revision history for any discussion or action taken, as no archives are kept.
  • No chit-chat: Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere.
  • Please respect other editors. A real person wrote the blurb or hook to which you are suggesting a fix, or a real person noticed what they honestly believe is an issue with the blurb or hook that you wrote. Everyone is interested in creating the best Main Page possible; with the compressed time frame, there is sometimes more stress and more opportunities to step on toes. Please be civil to fellow users.
  • Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, consider first attempting to fix the problem there before reporting it here if necessary. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the bolded articles. In addition, upcoming content is typically only protected from editing 24 hours before its scheduled appearance; in most cases, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.

Tomorrow's OTD[edit]

  • Hungarian Revolution of 1956 - was recently delisted at FAR for editorializing/POV concerns; someone should probably check to see if that is still in the article. Also, it's been on the main page 4 of the last 5 10/23 OTDs, so it might not hurt to rotate it off this year, anyway. Hog Farm Talk 15:31, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[]
  • In fact, this whole set needs maybe swapped. The women's rights convention has run every year since 2017, the Irish rebellion has been on the main page 6 of the last 7 years, and the Henderson field one has been up 4 of the last 5 as well. Surely we can find some variety for October 23. If nothing else I brought Battle of Byram's Ford to FA earlier this year, and it ended on October 23. Although ideally we can avoid it with Battle of Glasgow, Missouri running on 10/15 and Battle of Marais des Cygnes as TFA on 10/25 this year. Hog Farm Talk 15:38, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[]
Valentinian III is listed as ineligible for a too-short lead but I don't believe this is the case at present (although the "Portrayal in culture" section is unreferenced and could just be cut entirely). 𝄠ʀᴀᴘᴘʟᴇ 15:46, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[]
  • Alberto Santos-Dumont - "50 metres ... four metres..." per MOS we don't mix up numerals and words in short order. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 09:45, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[]
Also, "for 50 metres (160 ft) at a height of about four metres" but the bio article says "about sixty metres at a height of two-to-three metres" and the aircraft article says "over 50 m (160 ft) at an altitude of 3–5 m (9.8–16.4 ft)". So I guess it all needs sorting out. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 09:49, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[]
Inconsistent facts aside, it's a horrible blurb with trivial numbers without any context for a layperson.—Bagumba (talk) 10:15, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[]
